a little update on our fam.

k, so i've been dying to write and tell SOMEBODY what's been going on here but we had to keep things quiet for a LONG time. anyway, please be in prayer for our little family.

Our pastor, Chip Wheeler, resigned last Sunday to plant a new church in the Atlanta area. That leaves Asah (Assoc Pastor) as the interim for the time being. Our hearts have been called here to Hammond to be at Crossroads. Let me tell ya we prayed about this FOREVER (months) and it was the only decision that we felt at peace with. Funny, because all our family, roots, JORDAN'S GRANDPARENTS, the whole 9 yards are in GA. Would have made "sense" to move back, right? We only came to LA for Asah to finish seminary, right? But we just could not leave Crossroads Church. And God has affirmed our decision to stay again and again. Not to say it will be easy, it's the hardest thing ever not to be near family, but this is what we've been called to so I know that God will bless that.

Many of you also know how many times we've moved in our short little marriage. I'll fill you in....

1. I moved from Atlanta to Austell into an apt
2. Asah moved from his apt to "our" apt in Austell
3. We bought a house and moved into it in Austell
4. We moved to New Orleans to attend Seminary
5. Thanks to Katrina we evacuated to Houston, moved to Hammond, lived with Chip for a few weeks, then found an apartment

Thats a ton of moving folks! We want to settle so badly. We want a yard and a doggie for J. We'd love to be able to entertain and share fellowship again in a home. Our apt is so small we have no TABLE. I'd love to have family dinners and be able to "sit" with Jordan there too. Just a lot of needs in our family for a home at the moment.

SOOOO, if you would...please pray with us.

1. That the church and leadership would make GOD's decision on whether or not Asah should be Crossroads next pastor
2. That if so, we would find a home that we can financially afford and one that we could truly make "home"
3. For our families in GA, I know how hard it is to be away (Believe me, there have been times I would have given anything for someone to help out with J, or to be at a "family event" but we're just to far away, etc)
4. For our little family to continue to lean on one another and seek God in everything.

Trusting Him,

Tara

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Phil 4:4-6

I am in tears as I read your post. Thank you again for answering God's call. We too know what it is like to be away from family but we also know the joy of doing the Lord's will and having the body as family. love you three.
