this week has been a doozy. jordan is cutting two molars and he really isnt the same little guy. sleep has been off (at least during the day) and he's just had a hard week. therefore, i've had a hard week. the thing i've learned in this first year is that even though there are difficult "phases", they never last too long. knowing that there's light at the end of this teething tunnel gives me lots of hope! I've also had great encouragement this week and there are several people who could sense my stress and prayed for me....i really appreciate that.
whenever it gets tough i just look at that little smile (see pic above) and know that it's all worth it!
sometimes being miles away from family is hard. breaks are few and far between. it takes tons of teamwork between asah and i. but we are definitely supposed to be in hammond. and knowing that God has ordained for us to be here makes being here a-ok with me. it's home-

alrighty. hopefully that's a good update. we plan on a low key weekend (plenty of rest for mommy-happy mothers day to me!). jordan gave me a gift card for a massage. he knows exactly what i needed! asah and i will head to a mothers day "linner" (avoid the crowds of lunch and dinner and go mid-afternoon) on sunday while a babysitter keeps jordan for us. i picked the olive garden. and i can't wait to enjoy the breadsticks! and eat a meal with both my hands (instead of feeding jordan with one hand). it will be awesome.

fire ants-50; jordan-0

jordan and i were out enjoying the backyard yesterday when he "discovered" a bed of fire ants. needless to say they enjoyed feasting on his chubby arms. poor little guy was covered. they look much better today but i imagine they are quite itchy and painful. more than 50 bites on his arms, hands, neck. ouch. thankfully, no allergic reaction, even to that many. the joys of raising a curious little boy.
