getting ready to meet jaxon....

i thought i'd post a few pics to update everyone on jaxon.

the first pic is a fetal model from work of a 30 week baby. we're right at 31 now so he's a bit bigger but it's so neat to be able to "hold" a little one his size.

here i am tonight, 31 weeks. in asah's t shirt and the oh so stylish pink striped pj pants. but very comfortable! my belly is getting so big!

jordan and i worked on the nursery today. i kid you not he spent over 45 minutes playing with this mobile and hanging out in his old crib. he had a blast! i still dont think he "gets" that we're going to have an addition to the family soon; but we talk about jaxon every day and he goes into the room and says "baby". i am already praying for my boys to be best friends.....

i have been taking advantage of every diaper "deal" i can find. here's jaxon's stash of dipes! most of these were free or around $2-3 a pack. cant beat it!

and here's his closet. all Jordans hand me downs, organized from NB-18 months. The boy will be well clothed!

in the news....

this was the article in the Hammond Star about the new leadership positions at the Restoration House where I work. I made the paper! At 30 weeks pregnant and looking huge! Woo Hoo!

by the way, for those of you who know my dad, I think our new Exec. Director looks amazingly similar to him. Jordan has even called him "Papa". They could at least be brothers.

a clearer write up is on the newspapers website. click here.

I found it funny that the article stated that Asah AND I pastor Crossroads in Hammond. That isnt true...Asah's definitely the pastor and I'm definitely just his "helpmate". Hoping that doesnt cause too much confusion in the community :)

jordan had a blast and casey captured a few pics of him and posted them on facebook. i wanted to share them here. he's such a mess!

THIRTY weeks!

wow!  it has totally snuck up on me.  i cannot believe we'll be meeting Jaxon Bryan in 7-10 weeks or so.  this pregnancy has flown...has had several ups and downs...and i just cannot wait to meet this little guy.

here are a few updates on our family and life in general.  i havent done one in awhile.

asah:  is loving being a pastor.  this march marked one year as pastor of Crossroads.  we have learned SO much in the first year and we love being here in hammond.  earlier this month he took his first "personal retreat" and while he was only 20 miles or so down the road he was able to get away for 4 days for prayer, planning and study.  i am so glad he had this opportunity and it sounds like it was a very productive time in preparation for sermons this summer and the fall.  i'm extra glad he has direction as late summer/early fall will be spent welcoming Jaxon to our family!

tara:  is working hard!  this week i accepted the position of House Director at the pregnancy resource center where i work.  i have been bookkeeper there since late 2006 and we've had a couple leadership changes.  our Exec. Director resigned last month and this new position was created to serve alongside a new Exec. Director.  i am very excited about the opportunity to serve in this way.  i feel kind of crazy with the timing of it all, but i know that this is what God has led me to do and i'm very excited for the opportunity.  i also work at the gym one day/week and have two regular bookkeeping clients.  i stay on my toes daily!

jordan:  is the cutest, sweetest little boy we couldve ever imagined.  he amazes us daily with what he's learning and is full of life, and joy, and is extremely smart.  we are so proud to be his parents and cannot wait for him to be a big brother.

jaxon:  is over 3 lbs now and kicks me all day long.  everything looked good at my regular doc appt on thursday.  we have another visit with the specialist on july 18 for another peek at his brain and to measure the ventricles.  as it stands now the delivery should be routine and he'll be monitored closely at birth and after by the nursery.  we just continue to pray that there will be wonderful news at the appointment in july.

if you read this whole thing you are now updated on our little life.  thanks for reading!

happy father's day "D-A-D-D-Y"!

today was great!
we went to church and i kept the nursery....we made a neat little handprint project for the daddies.
we came home and ate roast, potatoes, and green bean casserole and all took a LONG nap.
we went for ice cream when we woke up and just spent the evening relaxing.
asah got $$ toward an "i phone upgrade" and i framed these pictures that spell "DADDY" for his office. Jaxon even got into the pictures (see 3rd "D").
Wonderful day....for a wonderful dad.

up close and personal with jaxon

if there is any good in driving to baton rouge to the specialist....it would be these pictures.

things remain unchanged since last visit. the ventricle measurements are still "slightly prominent" which means they're a bit above normal, but the Dr. said as it stands now this would be a normal delivery and baby. we are in awe of God's power and we know that our prayers have been and are continuing to be answered for this precious baby. please continue to pray...i think when he's out and i'm holding him and he's in my arms I'll be 100% convinced, but for now our trust is in God and we are just so thankful.  The measurements should be less than 1 cm, and Jaxon's lateral vents measured .94cm (9.4mm) and 1.2cm or 12mm.  The doctor said that these were still Okay measurements for him.  He now weighs in at 2 lbs 10 oz and is measuring well in all other areas.

i was amazed at how much these pictures looked like another little boy we know and love.....what do you think? this is Jordan around the same time......CLICK HERE
