play time

this past week jordan has become much more aware of his surroundings. he LOVES playtime and i tried to capture a few of the wonderful little expressions i get to see everyday. the ones of him in his crib, he's looking at his mobile. he also started batting at the toys on his bouncy seat.
also, notice that he's getting a little CHUNKY. can't wait to see what he weighs at the 2 month appt next week :)

we're still here...

just traveling at the moment.
more posts to come with lots of pictures from the many adventures of jordan hudgins and family.
be back soon, we promise!

until then, someone mentioned missing the "updates" of jordan's development...so i decided to continue to post what he's up to, now that he's entered the world.

7 weeks:

Your baby has lost his pinched newborn look and appears steady and alert when held upright. When on his tummy, he's able to lift his head and chest for short periods, almost as if he's doing mini-pushups. He might even be able to roll from back to front or front to back.

He's tuning in to you more each day. When you speak, he may stop sucking his thumb or interrupt a feeding to listen to you. Use your voice to connect with him. Repeat his coos and noises. Narrate your actions — speaking to your baby stimulates language development and is comforting. Make him the center of conversation. When you're with friends, include him and let him hear the richness of human interaction. He'll soon start to make all sorts of different noises himself.

visitors and crawfish

a couple days ago my (new) boss in july, randy and his wife leslie came over to visit jordan. they brought shrimp and crawfish...asah tried the crawfish for the 1st time and enjoyed them. i stayed far away because of my shellfish allergy, but enjoyed watching them eat up!!! asah refused to suck the heads like randy did, though. asah couldn't even kiss me after eating them....i stayed far away till i was sure the shrimp and crawfish had worn off :)
it was a fun visit!!

jordan had his 1st sunday at church today and had a good time. he also went to the grocery store with mommy for the first time. it was a good day!!!!

4 week pics

sleeping angel

little man

4 weeks today!!

where did this month go???? i can't believe it's been a month since our lives were changed by a precious arrival!!!

Jordan is growing so much. He weighs 9 lbs 2 oz. and is 21 3/4 in long. The doctor said he's right in the 50th percentile for weight/height..meaning he's proportionate and doing well! He loves to poo and pee on the table every doctor's visit. Fun times. No shots today, mommy was happy she didn't have to see him in pain!!!

Jordan's 1st outlet shopping experience will be tomorrow...we'll see how that goes. Right now he's snoozing in his bouncy seat and I'm enjoying a little downtime.

Mimi (Asah's mom) came in on Monday and he is enjoying his time with her!!!
