i want, i need a faith like this man.

Rick Burgess lost his 2 year old son a couple weeks ago in a drowning accident. Rick is a cohost on the Christian radio show, "Rick and Bubba"

Anyway, I highly encourage you to listen to the three parts of the eulogy he delivered at his little boys funeral. I cannot imagine......but the words, so powerful.

now this is more like it....

this pic is from the blessed sunday afternoon nap. i'm happy to report that he slept like a champ for this nap, and the nights following. this morning not a toy was out of place meaning he slept all the way thru without getting up! we are so thankful. at first it seemed like the transition would be ROUGH. we still need to get the parts for his new bed so the crib can go to the new babys room; but we're just glad he is getting some rest; cause that means we are too!!!!

morning after

well, i wont say it was a total bust, but jordan did have quite the eventful night and was up a lot playing. we finally resorted to putting a doorknob cover on his door so he'd stay in his room.
this is how i found him this morning. must've partied way too hard.
we'll try again tonight. and again. and again.

any tips would be appreciated!!!!!!

sooner or later it was bound to happen!

and we figured might as well sooner than later.

ever since Christmas Jordan has "known" how to climb out of his crib...and ever since then we've been going back and forth on moving him into a bed. It's just so nice to know he's safe and sound (confined!)
but when he climbed out 3 times yesterday and we heard him playing with his drums an hour after putting him to bed last night we knew it was time. we have a toddler bed we've been waiting to put together, so that the crib can be used for the new baby, but when Asah went to put it together we realized we didnt have all the parts. SO we ordered the parts to be here in a few weeks, and until then we converted his crib to a bed.

naptime was ROUGH today. it took about an hour and about 40 times of putting him back in his bed. however, i'm happy to report he did finally nap and did quite well. we are hoping it gets easier from here. i'll report on how the nighttime sleep goes.

if anyone has tips for transitioning feel free to share!

here are some pics of Jordan "helping" asah work on the bed....the finished product...and a few other changes we made today (put in a bookshelf, took out the rocking chair).

enjoy!

little update

so with all the new baby excitement and year end work i havent really had time for just a regular update.

here goes!

what is Jordan up to?
trouble! he is INTO everything! right now he's turning off the computer screen as i type. but this is such a wonderful age. new words every single day....and he amazes me at what he picks up and remembers.

we also have a new lake outside our house. not on purpose. it has rained the past two days so this is our backyard as of this morning. not pretty.

here is our week in review:

fun in the bathroom. we finally bought a toilet for Jordan and he's just getting used to it right now. he's also really into rolling out the TP. he's clogged our toilet twice throwing pieces in there and trying to flush.
we did have a breakthrough yesterday before bathtime. i took his diaper off and ask if he wanted to tee tee. he said yes and did it all over the floor before i had time to get him on the potty. oh well.

this is a scooter he got for Christmas. he thinks its a car. so he rides on it that way. i've shown him how to stand and scoot but he prefers this method. to each his own!

lake Hudgins

we're learning to use a spoon!

this is what i call his "sick spot". it is SO WEIRD but this spot appears when he's about to get a sinus infection or have to be on breathing treatments. it never fails. just on that side of his face, and he usually wakes up with it. the doc couldnt explain it. asah says he comes with an indicator. if we see the spot we need to start treatments. this popped up yesterday but so far he's sounded okay so we're holding off.

early a.m. fun!

introducing baby #2

we got our first view today...and we're in love all over again.
cant see much from the pics...but asah freaked out at first because the yolk sac and baby were about the same size and he thought there were TWO in there. phew.
looks like we are right on track with the due date of Aug 31.

Does it look like a BOY or GIRL????
Heartbeat was 149.

edited to Add: it would be way to early to tell. i was just kidding :)
we'll know around Jordan's Bday if this is a bro or a sis.

our little bean!

one of the wonderful things about working at a Pregnancy Resource Center is being constantly exposed to new life, babies, and all the information you could ask for! We have fetal models at our center and I found the one for where I'm at at this point in the pregnancy. It is amazing to be able to "hold" an exact model of your baby.

We also have an ultrasound machine here and I cant wait to be able to see our little guy/or girl! more frequently than last pregnancy.

Here's the model of our baby this week, I'm holding it in my hand for size comparison. Amazing!

deal of the week and a heartbeat!

Just wanted to give a baby #2 update....the heart is now beating this week. I just read that on my Baby center email and thought it was so cool. "The heart is now beating"...what an awesome thought! I am so thankful. We should be able to see and hear that tiny heart next week at our ultrasound. I'll keep everyone posted!

here's some more info on our little one this week:

The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute — almost twice as fast as yours — and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean.

Now something that has been extremely lacking over the Holidays....a DEAL of the week.

For Christmas I did this for a few gifts and it turned out great....A site called "Yak Pak" offers a grab bag deal where you can get 3 bags for $10.00. problem is you dont know what youre getting until you receive them in the mail. it's kinda fun. Last time I got a bookbag, laptop case, and cute purse. We gave two as gifts this year for Christmas. Here's a link if you want to try your luck!
I may do it again just for fun.
