more from Memorial Day

i only uploaded the pics of Jax for his 9 month Bday, so here are the rest. Great friends and a great, low key time. Lots of wonderful food. It was "bring your own meat" so we had lots of yummies to try. I made "loaded baked potato salad" (oh my!) and a berry bliss cake featured in this month's Kraft magazine.

i love cookouts and here's to the beginning of summer and many more!

somebody's 9 months old today!

and i just cannot believe it.
i rocked him a little longer this morning when he woke up and nursed...my baby wont be a baby too much longer, and this year is just flying by.

he's oh so close to crawling...starting to pull up....sleeping through the night!! (6:00pm-6:00am)
has 5 teeth now (6th coming soon)...eats 3 big meals a day, loves "table food" (whatever's on my plate; broken into small pieces)...naps 2 times a day....his brother is his hero....his cuddles melt my heart.

weekend reminder from jax: RELAX.

thurs nite jam session

i snagged this awesome drum set at the restoration house today, popped in some batteries, and voila! it worked. jordan played with it all afternoon, and jaxon enjoyed dancing to the beat. here are my two little musicians. jax even had the wooden flute, which was serving as a drumstick before we located the other ones.

baby mum mum=baby YUM YUM

jax LOVED these! i've never seen them in walmart before but have heard good things...truth is they taste great! i had one (gotta sample things before the kids eat them, right?)...anyway, they melt in your mouth practically but are little rice cakes. it was adorable to watch him eat them like a big boy. here are some pictures that capture his feelings about Baby Mum-Mums.

memorizing

here's a clip of jordan reciting parts of the catechism he's memorized. getting him to do this on camera is quite the chore. at first he was saying "cheese" thinking i was taking a picture (i take the videos on the digital camera).
anyway, he was also being very silly....but we're super proud of him for his hard work and wanted to share a bit of it.

4- approximate viewings of "elmo" segment of sesame street each day

9- approximate number of times per day he asks to play outside or go to the pool

12 (at least)-potty breaks per day. i think he's just fascinated with it right now. lots of helping put underwear back on.

2 (hours)-usual length of afternoon nap

4-# we're on in the catechism. he has the 1st 4 questions and answers memorized.

1:1 (Genesis)-has memorized his 1st Bible verse. "in the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth"

7:30 (pm)-bedtime

jaxon-

24- weight in lbs at 8 month checkup

3- meals a day. loves his fruits and veggies and we've started adding a serving of yogurt at breakfast.

4-5- # of times he nurses a day.

0- # of times he nurses at night (we're "kicking the habit" and so far so good!!)

1-pacifier that he loves.

2-naps per day. (each 1-2 hours in length.)

6:00 (am)-preferred wakeup time. (his preference not mine!)

6:30 (pm)-night night jax!

teething fun

jax was working on his 4th tooth this week (came in yesterday!) while in the teething trenches he fell in love with a vibrating teether. so did his brother. we had to keep telling jordan to give it back to jax. so here they are loving the fun new toy. silly boys :)

the "up and down"!!!!

thanks to a super sweet family in our church, we received a wonderful (new to us) trampoline for the boys. we put it together this afternoon and both of them love it! we hope to find a net to go around it soon; but for now, with careful supervision, jordan is loving his new outdoor toy. jaxon likes to sit on the edge and be bounced by his brother.
jordan cannot quite say "trampoline" so he calls it the "up and down".

mommys little secret

jordan's discovered mommys little secret. when jaxon is fussing and dinners not ready, or just when jax is fussing in general, a cheerio in the mouth brings a moment of quiet. he's even started feeding them to him all by himself. no complaints here!

that's Jordans newest nickname for our little man. Here he is at breakfast time, his favorite time of day (well, besides lunch and dinner!!)

i'm back!

THRIVE! was absolutely awesome. Thank you, Lord, for doing things through Krista and I that we could not do on our own. Jinny, our speaker, was fabulous and it was such a sweet time with area Women. We'll do it again next year for sure!

Plenty of pictures from the day to come. I could not have done this without Asah (superdad). He kept the boys pretty much 48 hours straight while we finished all the last minute details and hosted the event. Besides seeing Jax every 3-4 hours to nurse I barely saw him and the boys. Missed my family! Props to him for stepping in in such a huge way! He also helped keep Macauley, our Worship Leader's little one. In a sense it was like having a 3 year old and TWINS since Macauley and Jax are only a month apart. You GO daddy!

I also had my skin cancer removed the Thursday (just 2 days!) before Thrive. 30 minutes and 9 or so stitches later it was gone, we hope. Lab results come back in 10 days and we'll know if more surgery is required. I sure hope not. I'd love to put that behind me. It feels fine, I just hate not being able to jump in the pool with the boys until the stitches come out.
