here are some pics from the last couple of weeks. i just got home from a women's retreat in alexandria. it was my very first night away from jordan. daddy did a great job with him! i sure missed the booger though (both of em')!

when it rains it pours....

our yard after a torrential downpour last night. i was supposed to be hosting our playgroup today for a "pool party" with all our baby pools. our yard is a LAGOON!
bummer. we REALLY need to get those holes filled. actually, it's the parishes responsibility to fix the drainage problem in our neighborhood, but 49 phone calls later, i still haven't seen em. hmmmmm. any ideas for how to fix this?

welcome sarah grace mitterling!

happy to report that one of my bestest friends and college roomie had her baby girl this morning at 7:19!
Sarah Grace Mitterling was born to Nathan and Mary Margaret Mittlerling (one week overdue)
7 lbs 14 oz
just wanted to let folks know since a lot of her college friends read this blog.

the mardi gras birthday party in south ga on a freezing cold day pics

it was a cooooooold day. we actually ended up building a fire in the pavillion at Chehaw park. lots of friends and family were there to celebrate Jordan's 1st birthday, and we appreciate you all. Jordan received so many toys and clothes and we are so thankful! You all made his day really special. I wish I would have had more time to talk with everyone, but between shivering and teeth chattering it was near impossible to see everyone! Jordan is so blessed with a wonderful family and many friends. I hope these pictures make you smile. It was a great day. As you can see at the end, Jordan just passed out when it was over (he'd missed his morning nap but was quite the trooper!!)

sick....and tired

i took J to the doc yesterday for chest congestion/wheezing/general yuckiness. the good news is it's only a sinus infection and we're on meds to get it cleared up before the big PARTY. the downer is it makes him very sleepy, obviously....




He NEVER ever does this. on the go, all the time, except for 2 naps/day and at night. today he's just been lounging all day. it makes me laugh. he'll be exploring then just lay down. i thought these pics were funny.

anyway, please pray he'll be feeling much better by saturday. i think once the antibiotics get into his system he'll be much better. today has been such a nice break, though!!!

update on weight, etc: i was way interested to see what the big guy weighed when we went in, because we went 4 months without a single visit to the doc!! he was 26 lbs 6 oz, or 92%. she was so impressed with his strength. he wasnt gonna let her look in his ears without a fight. anyway, we will go back in a week for his "official" 12 mo checkup..but just thought i'd update on his size. he's enormous.

jordan made his best effort to help me get him packed for GA. this included climbing into his suitcase and unfolding and unpacking all the outfits, and emptying his bin that holds his diapers. thanks bud.
