blog organization
i'm just now getting with the program and using "labels" for my posts.
this is cool because if all you want to read about is jordan you can just click on "jordan" below one of the posts about him and it will pull everything up labeled with his name.
Should make searching for deals, updates on our family, etc easier to find.
it may take awhile to go back and label stuff (planning on doing just this year and going forward) so bear with me.....
and enjoy the labels.
crafty....
I've gotten a little "craft bug" as of late and have been trying a few projects.
This is the first one I've done for the baby and I was quite pleased with the results. I'll even post the "how to" here in case any readers are interested in doing them for their own children or for shower gifts.
Online, "Nursery Wall Letters" can run you anywhere from $6-10 PER LETTER.
I made Jaxon's name for around $16 and an additonal name for a friends shower for around $12.
Walmart is the most affordable place to purchase the letters, but often times they are "out" of the ones you may need. (Imagine that!)
I bought all my supplies from Hobby Lobby. You could probably find them at Michael's, Joannes, etc.
Here's how "JAXON" turned out!
Here's how you do it:
Materials:
Unfinished Wooden Letters to spell out name or Initials
"Pattern Paper": This is scrapbooking paper on the scrapbooking aisle. The Larger sheets did 2 letters. Just pick out patterns that compliment each other and the theme of the room or do them all the same.
White Spray Paint
Mod Podge (I used Matte finish)
Craft knife/Exacto knife (found in scrapbooking area)
Ribbon to match letters
Foam craft brushes or paint brushes for applying Mod Podge
Hot glue gun
Newspaper
How-to:
-Cover work area with newspaper.
-Place paper over letter and cut out with Exacto knife (this is the most tedious part)
-Spray paint letters and allow ample time to dry (front and back). Be sure they're fully dry and not sticky.
-Apply a fairly thick coat of the Mod Podge (with foam brush) to the letter then carefully glue down paper on top. Smooth out and make sure no bubbles!
-Apply a thin coat to the top of the paper on the letter.
-Let dry completely (overnight) then hot glue ribbon to letters for hanging.
EDITED TO ADD:
Great Catch, Jenny (see comments)- I did use this week's 25% coupon from Hobby Lobby to buy my materials. Just go to http://www.hobbylobby.com and print that weeks coupon before going. Makes it an even better deal!

my two front teeth
GRRRRR.
jordan fell at a restaraunt tonight and chipped his two front teeth.
i am beginning to dread the thought of TWO boys and all the injuries and rambunctious-ness that goes along with that....but it will just be part of it!
here's the kicker...we dropped our dental coverage on him a few months back because it was costing so much out of pocket and we were cutting back...we figured we'd add him in a year or so when he was old enough for regular cleanings, etc. YIKES.
so pray we can find a dentist in the area that will have MERCY on us and take Jordan and not charge us too much. I know one of the teeth will need to be smoothed out as it is jagged.
He's also acting as if they're hurting him a little. Tonight he cried when I brushed his teeth and made a painstaken face when i gave him his paci for night-night.
Oh, the joys of a wild and crazy boy!
I'd have it no other way--

sugar and spice?????????????
TRY SNIPS AND SNAILS!!!!
we had a shock at our Ultrasound today. It's a healthy baby BOY!
Needless to say all the "peeking" at work and thinking it was a girl wasn't quite the case.
This one showed off and it's certain he's a boy!
We are thrilled for a brother for Jordan.
Notice the "name badge" change at the top of the page for the name announcement. We both liked "Jackson" but wanted a unique spelling, and Bryan is my maiden name and I'm thrilled this one will carry that on.
Prayer Request....my placenta is very low and covering the cervix. I'll be having ultrasounds every 4 weeks to see if this moves. If not I will have to have a c-section. I'd love to avoid that so please pray that it moves!!!!

update coming soon...
promise.
asah took my camera for 10 days while on a mission trip and i JUST got it back.
Jordan did tons of cute things over those 10 days but no, I didnt have my camera for them.
However, we have many pictureworthy events coming up so I'll be posting all about them, K?
One being MY BABY IS TURNING TWO this week. whatintheworld? where on earth did that come from? HOW do I have a 2 year old? Crazy.
Big party on Saturday. Cant wait.
Baby #2 is doing well too. She(?) decided to have a party in my belly last night and I barely slept because it was just neat feeling all that movement. I forgot what that felt like with J and it is wonderful. Cant wait till Asah can see/feel the kicks too!
Must get to work.....
By the way it is WONDERFUL to have my hubby back. While J and I survived on our own (barely) it is so nice to have our man of the house back. Jordan latched onto him at the airport and would not let go. For a long time. And this morning I had to wake him up and the first thing he said was "Daddy home?" I was so glad i could finally say "YES!". The boy missed his daddy terribly.
I will post some pics from Asah's trip soon. He is still in a fog from the 12 hour time difference and no-sleep-while-travelling 2 days but as soon as he is back in the land of the living I'll update our blog with a few pics of his great adventure.
Love to all!
